Welcome to JD’s Custom Charters! Our charter service offers unique affordable packages for Trophy Trout and Salmon on Lake Ontario. We cater to all levels of experience from the beginner to the die hard. Lake Ontario is an outstanding fishery with a large variety of species to fish for. Many of the tributaries and surrounding bays are a major part of the New York State stocking program. It is because of this that each year these waters produce many trophy Salmon and Trout. JD’s Custom Charters targets a variety of fish but specializes in: Tackle Testing King Salmon – These fish are also known as Chinook Salmon have serious power and make strong runs that truly put you to the test. Once hooked up you will encounter drag screaming runs of 100-200 feet of line in seconds. Battles of over 20 minutes will definitely test your endurance. Depending on the time of year, they average 15-25 pounds with many 30 pounders caught every year……Are you ready? High Flying Silver Steelhead – Rainbow Trout and Steelhead are known for their streamlined bodies and agility. They can make super fast runs in different directions while making multiple jumps that can reach up to 4 feet out of the water! Most fish run between 5 – 12 pounds. CHARTER INFORMATION We offer many options and are fairly flexible in what we can do for you. Most of my trips run 4-6 hours from first light till around noon. I am also available multiplel day charters. Discounts are available for multiple day charters. Booking a multiple day charter will increase yours odds and help insure your success on catching a Trophy! All dates are weather and wind dependent based on the call of the captain. If weather does influence the time of your charter a rain date will be arranged. RESERVATIONS Reservations are only tentative until a deposit is received. Reservations are confirmed with a $100 deposit per day. Upon receipt of your deposit, a confirmation letter and trip information will promptly be mailed or emailed to you. Cancellation policy: 100% refund with a 14 day notice.
